At ena Development Consultants, we are especially proud to be part of the tourism development on the emerald island of the North Aegean, Thasos. We support the implementation of the business visions of seven investors from Xanthi and Thasos in creating their own tourist accommodations on the island.
By leveraging the funding tools of the outgoing ESPA 2014-2020, and with the guidance of ena’s experienced team, these new businesses successfully secured 50% funding of their total expenses through the action “Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Small and Medium-Sized Tourism Enterprises” under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, ESPA 2014-2020.
The subsidized expenses included construction works, procurement and installation of machinery and equipment, quality assurance systems, promotion and marketing, software, vehicles, and consulting services.
One of the seven investors is the company S. Menexes & Co. G.P.. The Marketing Department of ena Development Consultants, as part of the creation of a new Business Story, had the pleasure and honor of visiting the tourist accommodations The 8 Keys, owned by S. Menexes & Co. G.P., and speaking with Mr. Nikos, who works there. We got a small taste of the hospitality and services they offer, which we will try to convey to you. The owners of “The 8 Keys” kindly answered a series of questions we asked them:
How did the idea for your new venture come about?
Our many years of experience participating in major projects as furniture manufacturers (S. Menexes & Co. G.P.) in the hotel sector served as a stepping stone for this new venture in Skala Potamias, Thassos. It’s a beautiful area with the longest beach on the island and significant potential for tourism development.
How did ena and the ESPA funding contribute to the implementation of the project?
ena Development Consultants undertook the full management of the funding program. With their proven experience and strong presence in the field, they supported every aspect of our investment plan. We received consulting support, proposals, solutions, and continuous updates. Their guidance in leveraging the best funding sources was comprehensive, and of course, the preparation of our investment plan was excellent!
What makes your business stand out?
We created 8 luxurious suites with a unique character and high aesthetic value. Our goal was not to compete with traditional island accommodations. We wanted to offer a different experience—one that has been increasingly embraced abroad over the past decade. People today—whether entrepreneurs or casual tourists—no longer settle for the impersonal feel of a large hotel or for lodgings that superficially promote tradition and nostalgia for the past. Our desire is for guests to stay in a place that makes them feel at home.

Tell us a few words about your business.
The company “unlocked” the 8 “doors” of hospitality for the first time in May 2022, having created an environment that allows guests to fully relax.
The suites of “The 8 Keys” are filled with the light and colors of the sea, the mountains, and the sky of the Northern Aegean. Our attention to guest care, along with the beautiful and luxurious spaces, ensure a stay that is both comfortable and refined. We decorated both the interior and exterior areas with sophisticated taste and understated luxury, without missing any modern facilities or comforts. Spacious areas were created with the sole purpose of offering you rest and relaxing holidays.
Our wish is to satisfy and bring joy to everyone who visits this place—and to ensure they leave with the best impressions! NOTE : We take all necessary measures to ensure the highest standards of hygiene.

What are your future plans for your business?
We will continue to work with professionalism. Staying true to our philosophy of providing high-standard services, we constantly strive to stay informed and improve every aspect of our business. As tourism is Greece’s most valuable asset in terms of the economy, we aim to contribute to the promotion of our region. Our country has much more to offer, and there is certainly room for new investments.
